The advantages of 3D printing
One of the advantages of 3D printing is the instant reconfiguration of production to adapt to changing conditions and tasks. It allows for adjusting the shape and size of the produced items, as well as changing the types of plastics used.
Comparison with industrial alternatives
The capabilities of the technology allow for creating lightweight forms and structures, hollow inside, which saves material and makes it more comfortable and safer to use the products in practice. Plastic-printed items can replace gypsum, metal, or glass products, while their use will significantly reduce weight and, consequently, lower requirements for fastening and installation of such items.
Which materials are available for 3D printing
A wide range of materials is used for 3D printing, allowing to meet various needs. These include strong and durable engineering plastics, colored, decorative, elastic, and light-transmitting materials, as well as the most relevant in the modern world – biodegradable and safe plastics made from natural plant-based materials.
For what is 3D printing used
In the modern world, 3D printing technology finds the widest application. It can produce the most complex shapes, which are difficult to achieve with other manufacturing methods. It allows for a rapid transition from idea to finished product. It is ideal for making prototypes and models, souvenirs and gifts, engineering parts and mass production, interior items… and so on, and so forth… the list is endless.
FAQs about 3D printing
What factors determine the cost of services?
The cost of 3D printing is calculated based on the weight of the plastic used for printing, as well as the layer height (the smaller the layer, the longer the printing process). The standard layer height is 0.2 mm.
I don't have a model, can I come to you for printing?
Yes, of course, we provide computer modeling services of various complexity levels based on your photos/sketches/drawings/samples. After the computer model is approved, we immediately proceed to 3D printing.
How much does 3D scanning cost?
The cost of 3D scanning for a part is determined by:
– Its dimensions (not less than 30x30x30mm and not more than 2 meters along the longest side)
– Type of surface
– Customer requirements
For example, if the item weighs less than 5kg, with the longest side not exceeding 15-20cm, and is made of plaster or limestone, the cost of 3D scanning will be approximately 30-40 EUR.
However, if the item is mirrored, transparent, black, or rusty, with the same dimensions (weight not exceeding 5kg and longest side not exceeding 15-20cm), the digitization cost will be approximately 50-60 EUR.
For larger objects such as a car wing, threshold, or door, the digitization cost will start from 150-200 EUR.
If the part additionally has hidden cavities and/or the customer requires refinement/correction of the obtained result, the cost is determined based on the requirements and the final workload for 3D modeling.
How much does creating a 3D model cost?
The cost of work and the timeframe for creating three-dimensional models depend on the existing initial data provided by the client and the required final result. These data are referred to as the Technical Task — TT (‘Draw us something like this!’, ‘I want to order a 3D model from a photo, find it yourself on the internet’, ‘I want it to be mystical, romantic, luxurious, exquisite’ or ‘Make a model like no one else has!’ — such requests are not accepted as TT). Everything else depends on:
– the completeness of the technical task;
– the complexity of developing/correcting the 3D model;
– the engineer’s working time.
In our practice, there have been cases where the client’s model was not intended for 3D printing and/or contained errors. Corrections to such models are made using specialized software in automatic mode. This service is provided free of charge, but if unsuccessful, the model is returned to the client for self-editing. The cost of corrections made by us is agreed upon individually.
